However familiar you may be with the route of your walk please carry a map and compass for emergency purposes. Guidance for walk leaders can be found in the Volunteer Zone of the Ramblers website.
Occasionally, due to unforeseen circumstances, the published leader may not be available to lead the walk. The walk leader will make every effort to find a suitable replacement leader so that the walk can still go ahead. The new leader has the authority to adapt the walk route and distance if required.
