Regular local walks

Many of our groups offer regular walks that start from the same location. Details of all the regular walks are included in the printed walks programme and in Walks Finder.

Henley & Goring group walks from Henley Town Hall

Short Saturday afternoon walks of 5 miles or less every second and fourth Saturday of the month at 14:00.

Vale group walks from Abingdon, the Market Place, outside Java&Co

2nd Thursdays, Leisurely, shorter; 4th Thursdays, Moderate, longer; both at 10:30, unless otherwise stated in the programme.

Vale group walks from Wantage, the Bear Hotel

3rd Thursdays, leisurely short walks, all at 10:30.

Vale group walks from Faringdon/West Vale

1st Thursdays, leisurely and moderate walks, all on the Stagecoach No 66 bus route. Faringdon, Old Crown Inn, all at 10:10. If arriving by car, use Gloucester Street car park (charge).

Other start points, various start times to allow arrival of appropriate buses. Walk on other days also on bus route 66. Look for ‘A bus ROUTE 66 friendly walk’.

Vale group Easy paced Abingdon ‘Strolls’

Circular or linear 3.5 mile strolls from Abingdon every 1st Thursday and 3rd Tuesday of the month. No stiles or hills. Come and join these pleasant walks in good company.

Bicester & Kidlington group

Short walks of less than 5 miles every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.

West Oxfordshire group combined with Vale Group

Short walks on 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Didcot & Wallingford group walks from East Hagbourne, Upper Cross

A village ramble, on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 14:00, that varies from 5 to 7 miles.

Banbury & North Oxford group walks from Bodicote, the church

‘Bodicote Bustle’ strenuous walks of ~6 miles on last Saturday of the month at 10:00.

Banbury & North Oxford group Easy Friday Lunch Walks

The walks take place on the first Friday of each month at 10:30, cover about 3 miles, without stiles, take about 1.5 to 2 hours, over beautiful undulating countryside. The walks are for those who simply wish for a pleasant, sociable, chatty, easy morning's stroll followed by, for those who wish, a companionable lunch/drinks with old and new friends.
