Walk Leaders' Course
Currently once a year, generally in October.
Open to, and funded by, the Oxfordshire Area, RA. Run by members of the Vale Group.
The course will cover planning, navigation and leadership, i.e., where to go, how
to get there and how to ensure everybody else gets there as well!! There will be two
indoor mid-week sessions. The outdoor practice on the saturday will be followed by a
final indoor discussion and tea.
As this is a popular course, John would appreciate extra volunteers who might
assist small groups with their map reading .

This can be set up on demand for a group of 12 walkers.
Walkers First Aid course to be held at Red Cross House, Abingdon.
Day course 09:00 to 16:00. Free for members.

Oxforshire Gets Fit for Wildlife
Oxford City Centre on Sunday 30 March at 10.30am
Racing for red kites and strolling for swans, hundreds of
people from Oxfordshire are set to get fit for wildlife
during the RSPB?Ts first sponsored walk around Oxford on
Sunday 30 March.
Walkers will be raising money for the charitys?Ts
Oxfordshire team, which runs the Otmoor nature reserve,
Beckley, reintroduced red kites to the county and works with
the area?Ts farmers.
Two circular routes of 5 and 8.5 miles start from Oxpens
Meadow, next to the Thames, staggered between 10.30am and
12pm and follow the canal, universities, dreamy spires and
green parks.

goody bag on the day.
Every entrant giving a registration donation of £10 or more
will receive a cotton Fair Trade RSPB t-shirt.

There is parking at Oxpens, plus Abbey Place and NorfolkStreet.
Park & Rides: the Oxford park and ride buses drop people at
either Castle Street or Paradise Street.

the start/finish area.
